Indian Aviation sector on a revival mode
The Indian Aviation sector now seems to be in a revival mode with number of passengers jumping over 25% this October-November 09 period. Flights to metro cities, especially leisure travel destinations like Goa and Kerala increased substantially, primarily due to improvement in business and leisure travel. The overall passenger traffic had been lagging since 2008. This should give some relief to airline companies that were gripped with losses due to global slowdown, falling demand and souring fuel prices. If fuel price and currency rates remain stable airliners can expect to see improvements in their margins over the coming years.
